Some people come into our lives for a short time, and quickly go. Others come and stay. But what about the people that you lose touch with, or spend time thinking about or wondering, “what happened?”
During the last SYS Challenge, I did an inventory of the people in my life, and connected to the ones who were really meaningful to me.
What I learned is that maybe the very thing I’m holding on to is the thing I need to let go of. For me, it was guilt – guilt over a “failed” friendship, guilt that I may have done something wrong, guilt that I didn’t reach out sooner.
Instead, I have found acceptance. Acceptance that what was may not be what is – and that’s okay.
